The Dallas Cowboys flexed their muscles on Sunday Night Football when they shut out the New York Giants 40-0 to start their 2023 NFL season.

The Cowboys came into the year touted as a Super Bowl contender and they certainly reinforced that claim as they thoroughly outplayed the Giants in every phase of the game.

Their defense was the star of the night as the group made life incredibly difficult on Daniel Jones and the rest of the New York offense.

The defense was so good that Dak Prescott and the offense barely had to do much to seal the win.

Things only get better for Dallas as their Week 2 opponent is the New York Jets who lost Aaron Rodgers for the remainder of the season due to a ruptured Achilles.

Most are predicting the Cowboys to sleepwalk to a victory, though people like Craig Carton still believe the Jets have a chance via The Carton Show.

“I wouldn’t wanna be the Dallas Cowboys this weekend,” Carton said.

It’s a bold proclamation to suggest that Dallas would struggle with the other New York team as they’ve got a stingier defense than the Buffalo Bills do.

Although the Jets have a win under their belts, they’re going to struggle much more against a Cowboys team that proved they should be taken more seriously.

Zach Wilson managed to come in and perform decently after Rodgers went down, but he’s going to face an entirely different beast when he sees the Dallas defense lined up against him.
