San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s future with the team is now up in the air.

The 1,000-yard wide receiver recently requested a trade from the organization after the two sides could not come to terms on an extension.

A deal could still get done despite Aiyuk’s trade request, but that hasn’t stopped analysts and fans from throwing ideas out for where Aiyuk should get traded.

ESPN analyst and former NFL wide receiver Harry Douglas likes the Raiders as a possible option.

“Don’t rule out the Las Vegas Raiders because Brandon Aiyuk was at Arizona State with Antonio Pierce,” Douglas recently said on Get Up.

Douglas also went on to mention that if the Raiders traded for Aiyuk, that would open the door for them to trade an older player in star wide receiver Davante Adams to a team such as the New York Jets.

Not only does the Adams angle make this trade an interesting one, but the Raiders are both out of the NFC West and out of the entire NFC.

San Francisco wouldn’t need to worry about playing against Aiyuk all that often in this scenario.

But, it would certainly make sense for Aiyuk to want to play for Antonio Pierce again.

Pierce spent four years at Arizona State (2018-2021) in multiple roles on the coaching staff, and Aiyuk played for the Sun Devils in 2018 and 2019 before becoming a first-round pick in 2020.

If the two have a strong relationship and with the Raiders being in the AFC, this type of trade makes sense if the 49ers can’t bring back Aiyuk.
