Week 1 of the new NFL season will feature an intriguing NFC East matchup on Sunday Night Football — the Dallas Cowboys versus the New York Giants in East Rutherford, N.J.
One may think the Cowboys are almost a lock to win this contest, given that they have more talent on paper on both sides of the football and won 12 games last year, while New York went 9-8.
But some feel the Giants are being disrespected even after they surprised people in 2022, and analyst Craig Carton told the viewers of his show to not sleep on the Giants.
“Do NOT sleep on the New York Giants.”

Last year, New York won six of their first seven games, and they charged into the playoffs as a wild-card team, where they upset the 13-4 Minnesota Vikings.
After Saquon Barkley was engaged in a contract dispute, he agreed to play this season on the team’s franchise tag, and Carton feels the running back will have a great year.
Carton also alluded to some added weapons that will take some pressure off Barkley, which include tight end Darren Waller, who has gone over 1,100 yards twice in his seven-year career.
The Giants found success in 2022 by winning ugly, and as Carton pointed out, all but one of their victories were by eight points or fewer.
That may not be a sustainable recipe for consistent success, but if at least one of their wide receivers steps up this year, perhaps they will find that winning will come a little bit easier for them than it did last fall and winter.
