On Monday, something interesting took place at Coors Field during the game between the Colorado Rockies and Atlanta Braves.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, three fans ran onto the field and grabbed Acuna, with one attempting to take a selfie with the young outfielder.

The fans even tackled Acuna to the ground before security at Coors Field intervened and escorted the fans off the field.

Fortunately, Acuna appeared to not be injured in this skirmish.

After the game, Pittsburgh Pirates star Andrew McCutchen took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the matter, describing the situation as “unacceptable.”

This is unacceptable. Could have been a total disaster had Acuña got injured or he clocked one of em. I know ATL wouldnt have let that happen. They stay ready there https://t.co/x5nxsMFjuW

McCutchen vouched for Acuna, responding to a video of the incident that was posted on Twitter and discussing the fact that things could have gotten ugly if Acuna was injured.

Things also could have gotten out of hand if Acuna had retaliated to the fans after they had shoved him to the ground.

The security team was forced to act swiftly and had to put forth a tremendous effort just to get the first fan off of Acuna before the other two fans joined.

Those two fans were subsequently tackled by security, and soon all three fans would be escorted off the field and out of the ballpark.

This is certainly a dangerous situation for Acuna.

The fans rushed onto the field very quickly and ultimately interfered with the action of the game.

McCutchen made his opinion on the matter clear, and it’s a good thing that the incident didn’t escalate any further.
