This weekend’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills was shrouded in controversy.
The Chiefs were in the midst of what could have been a game-winning drive.
Travis Kelce caught a pass, ran down the field, and flipped the ball to Kadarius Toney, who ran another 20 yards for a touchdown.
After Toney scored, it was revealed that he was offsides before the play began, negating the score.

This caused outrage among the Chiefs and their fanbase, especially those attending the game.
As Adam Schefter points out, Andy Reid discussed this in a press conference: “It’s a bit embarrassing for the National Football League for that to take place.”
Chiefs’ HC Andy Reid was not pleased that officials did not warn him that Kadarius Toney was lined up offsides the way they have in the past. About the call, the normally mild-mannered Reid said, “It’s a bit embarrassing for the National Football League for that to take place.”

Schefter also noted that this comment is uncharacteristic of Reid.
Reid is known to keep cool, especially in the public eye and press conferences.
Clearly, this call got to him, and he wants the NFL to take action.
Referees have taken significant heat lately, as many players and fans are convinced that officiating is worse this year than in the past.
This incident is the most recent example, although many outside of the Chiefs organization believe this was the right call.
Calling offsides on an offensive player is rare, but it does happen and is a part of the rules.
It will be interesting to see if there are any repercussions for Reid or his players, as many of them spoke out about this during and after the game.
The NFL tends to fine players for speaking negatively about situations like this, and with a lot of the Chiefs organization on board, this could end up being an expensive game.
