The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs headed into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of being able to repeat and do something that hadn’t been done since Tom Brady was leading the New England Patriots to Super Bowl titles on a regular basis.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the 2023 campaign was anything but easy, with the team having an up-and-down year during the regular season, as it was uncertain whether this team would be successful throughout the NFL playoffs.

As if the team didn’t need any more distractions on or off the field, superstar tight end Travis Kelce starting dating world-famous pop star Taylor Swift, as she became a regular at Chiefs games during the season.

Kelce received a lot of criticism for the relationship with Swift as many perceived it as an unwanted distraction, but in the end, Kansas City and the NFL seemed to benefit, which head coach Andy Reid acknowledged, via “Speak” on FS1.

“The Taylor Swift thing was all positive,” Reid said. “It was nothing negative at all… She’s great, Travis is great. I’m happy that they’re happy.”

It seems that all parties involved got to benefit greatly from Swift’s presence, as it resulted in an enormous bump in revenue for the league and the team because she brought in a whole new fanbase that followed her every move.

Although the relationship was beneficial this year, it remains to be seen whether that can continue in the years to come, as these kinds of high-profile relationships don’t seem to last, and the end result is usually some song written about the ex-boyfriend and all that happened.
