With the trade deadline now less than a week away, the Los Angeles Angels are becoming a very interesting team to watch.

The entire baseball world is waiting in anticipation to see what they will ultimately do with two-way star Shohei Ohtani, who is a free agent at the end of the season.

Many are expecting him to leave the Halos.

But for now, the Angels are playing very solid baseball and have been on a tear since coming back from the All-Star break.

On Twitter, Buster Olney of ESPN pointed out just how hot the Angels are and why they should be taken seriously.

Los Angeles is currently 7-3 in their 10 games since returning from the All-Star break.

They have a +9 run differential as well.

The Halos are also just 3.5 games back of the third and final Wild Card spot in the American League.

According to FanGraphs, the Angels have a 16.7 percent chance of reaching the postseason.

While the baseball world waits in anticipation to see what will happen with Ohtani, the Angels are giving every indication that they plan on keeping him around at this year’s deadline and later attempting to re-sign the two-way superstar.

The Angels own a record of 51-49 after their come-from-behind win over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Tuesday.

It is unknown what they will do at the trade deadline, but if they remain hot, it could be that the Angels decide to buy and hold onto Ohtani for now before he reaches free agency.
