Another NBA season has come and gone, and the 2023-2024 campaign saw the Boston Celtics win another championship.
Despite a legendary team winning the Finals, the 2023-2024 season marked the fifth straight season without a repeat winner.
This is a sign that there is starting to be more parity throughout the league and that more and more teams are getting chances to succeed.
Of course, not every team has shown growth in recent years.
The Detroit Pistons haven’t made the playoffs since the 2018-2019 season, and have only reached the postseason twice in the past decade.
Things haven’t been going well for this franchise, causing some around the league to worry about their future.
According to one anonymous executive via ESPN and NBA Central,” I feel bad for Cade Cunningham. They’ve been rebuilding for years even though they never planned on it, and this pick (Ron Holland), signals they might need to blow up the roster and start over again.”
An anonymous executive says he feels bad for Cade Cunningham and calls the Pistons’ situation a “mess” after drafting Ron Holland

Cunningham, of course, was a highly touted player coming into the league, but because of the Pistons’ woes, many fear his career is being wasted in Detroit.
This executive believes that the team should start over, as their recent draft picks don’t bring enough to the table to help them turn over a new leaf.
When you’re at the bottom like the Pistons, it can be difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and to have hope for your future.
Can the Pistons find something to cling to in the 2024-2025 campaign to keep their hopes alive?
