The San Francisco 49ers don’t want to trade Brandon Aiyuk, and they’ve made that loud and clear.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t ask for such a steep return for his services, especially after watching multiple teams walk away from negotiations already.

A report by Adam Schefter of ESPN (via Bleacher Report) states that the New England Patriots have officially joined the list of teams not interested in pursuing him anymore, which is far from a surprise.

The Patriots were reportedly willing to give him more than $30 million a year and had been trying to get him for months.

Now, they claim they’re ‘excited’ about their wide receivers corps and looking forward to developing them.

Aiyuk is an impactful player and one of the best route-runners in the game, but it also seems like he might be a little too full of himself, and those players rarely fare well in the league for long.

The Washington Commanders had also withdrawn themselves from trade talks regarding Aiyuk, so perhaps all the talk about the Niners fielding calls for him was nothing but a bluff.

As of now, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are the only known suitors still interested in his services.

But unless the Niners are even slightly willing to meet them in the middle, that doesn’t seem very likely at this point.
