Long before he made it to the NBA, Anthony Davis was drawing praise as one of the best prospects the game had ever seen.

Fast forward to today, and even though he’s had plenty of shortcomings and has struggled with injuries, he could still be considered a top-15 talent ever.

Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s a top-15 player ever, but skill-wise and talent-wise, he could’ve been.

Davis is an elite defender and one of the few guys in the league who still gets the job done on both ends of the floor.

That’s why he’s an authorized voice to talk about some of the most talented hoopers the game has ever seen.

With that in mind, in his appearance on the Join The Lobby Podcast, they asked him about the most skilled/purest players he’s competed against, and his answer was quite interesting (via ADHD).

First, he chose Kevin Durant, who he played with on Team USA.

Then, he talked about Victor Wembanyama, reminiscing about their first matchup together and how they went back and forth in San Antonio.

Notably, both of those players are true cheat codes, seven-footers who can shoot over anybody and score from all three levels, and who get the job done on the defensive end as well.

The fact that he chose a rookie is remarkable and speaks volumes about Wembanyama’s potential.

Hopefully, he’ll be able to stay on the court and fulfill his legacy, as we could be witnessing one of the best — if not the best — player of all time.
