USA Basketball wanted to leave nothing to chance in the Olympics, so they made sure to stack the best American-born NBA players on their roster — at least for the most part.
Unsurprisingly, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant stole all the headlines.
Durant set a new record, LeBron had some nice plays, and Curry bailed them out and saved them in both podium games.
Nonetheless, even though they were all very impressive, Anthony Edwards was even more impressed by Devin Booker.
When asked about the summer with Team USA, the young shooting guard tipped his hat to Booker for not only being an efficient scorer but also embracing the challenge of guarding the opposition’s best player (via Whyba).
Ant Man: “Steph had great games, he (KD) had great games, Lebron had great games, but Book was guarding the best player, turning down shots, Book go for seventy, not gonna lie, I was impressed watching him.” #FanaticsFest

Coach Steve Kerr also praised Booker and called him the team’s unsung hero.
Booker is known for being one of the best and most efficient three-level scorers in the game, but he’s never been praised for his defensive prowess.
While he’s not a pushover by any means, you don’t see that kind of defensive effort from him in the NBA as often.
Granted, FIBA games are shorter, and he wasn’t asked or needed to be the team’s primary or secondary scorer, which is the case with the Phoenix Suns.
Even so, this should be very encouraging for coach Mike Budenholzer, who’s known for his defensive expertise.
Hopefully, Booker will be able to keep this momentum going on the defensive end of the floor next season and keep taking his game to a whole new level.
