Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is one of the best young players in the NBA.
But could he also become a player for another major sports league as well?
Appearing on Marco Summers’ talk show “Open Thoughts”, via ESPN and Legion Hoops, Edwards revealed that he believes he could be the first player to play in both the NBA and NFL.

But sports fans shouldn’t expect to see Edward taking a run on the football field any time soon.
“As a team, [the] Minnesota [Timberwolves] organization, we want to win a championship. After that, we’ll figure that out,” Edwards said.
Edwards was the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Before that, he was a top running back before he turned his attention to the basketball court.
Edwards is definitely built like a football player in many ways and there is no doubt that he could push through competition on the field like he does on the basketball court.
Since focusing solely on basketball, he has become a sensation.
Edwards is averaging 26.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists so far this year and the Timberwolves have proven themselves as a terrific team in the West.
They currently have an 11-3 record, placing them as the top seed in their conference.
However, the Oklahoma City Thunder, reigning champion Denver Nuggets, and Dallas Mavericks are hot on their heels.
Edwards has had a very busy few months, playing for his country in the FIBA World Cup and then returning home to lead the Timberwolves to their best start in years.
It’s unlikely the All-Star will have time to even contemplate a move to the NFL any time soon.
