With the NBA currently in the slowest part of the year for content, some things that get said can get overanalyzed, misinterpreted, and twisted as every news piece tends to stick out more than usual.
That seems to be the case with what Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves recently said about Team USA head coach Steve Kerr.
Apparently, Kerr talked about Dwyane Wade coming off the bench for Team USA during the Redeem Team days after Kobe Bryant joined the team.
Kerr seemed to be alluding to the fact that Wade was willing to sacrifice for the team because Bryant deserved to be the starter, as he was arguably the best defender and leader on the team at that moment.
Edwards’ quote in response to that was that there is no Kobe on this current Team USA squad, and some believed that he was taking a shot at Kerr because he didn’t want to come off the bench.
The Timberwolves star tried to clarify his comments, via a short video shared by Ball Don’t Lie.

It is still a little confusing as to what was going on in the conversation between Kerr and Edwards, but it seems as though the two have a good relationship and that they should, as he’s without a doubt the best all-around player on the team and proving it every time he steps on the floor.
On Saturday, Kerr and company will get back to work with Team USA set to take on New Zealand in the Philippines in games that actually count in the FIBA World Cup.
