This Minnesota Timberwolves team is special.

They took basically the same core they had last season and took their defense to a whole new level this year.

And while they clearly have plenty of talent and a stacked roster to get to this point, the coach deserves a lot of credit for the way he’s got his players to buy in on that system.

That’s why, following the win over the Denver Nuggets, Anthony Edwards took some time to give his coach his flowers (via John Meyer).

Edwards stated that he believes that Chris Finch is the best coach in the NBA, as he always makes sure to get everybody ready to play and involved in the flow of the game.

But more than that, he thinks what makes him special is the fact that he’s going to hold everybody accountable regardless of where he is in the pecking order or whatnot.

Edwards admitted that coach Finch would get on him if he was the one messing up, and the same goes for Karl-Anthony Towns or anybody on the team; he’ll just make sure that everybody’s doing their job.

The Timberwolves are now back in the Western Conference Finals for the first time in two decades and the second time in franchise history, and we’re talking about a team that won just one playoff game last season and had to go through the defending NBA champions.

Still, the job’s not done, and coach Finch is well aware of that.
