The Minnesota Timberwolves were trying to take a commanding 3-0 lead over the Denver Nuggets Friday night at home but the reigning champions had other ideas and walked away with a crucial 117-90 win.

Following the game, Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards opened up to the press and said that he is holding himself accountable for the loss.

“That’s on me. I’ll take the blame for this loss. I came out with no energy at all,” Edwards said, according to a video shared by SportsCenter.

“I let my team and my coaches down,” Edwards added before saying, “I’ll be ready Sunday.”

Edwards only scored 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists during the game.

While those might be admirable numbers for others, they are not for Edwards, who has been on a wonderful tear lately and has gained the attention of many because of his playoff performances.

His honest and humble comment about the game has received quite a reaction online, with many people praising Edwards for taking responsibility.

“No excuses. Complete star at the age of 22. Rare,” one fan said on Twitter.
