Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is often compared to Michael Jordan, which is obviously a huge honor.
The Team USA gold medalist recently commented on Jordan’s era in the NBA and his statement will surely get a few people talking.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, per NBACentral, Edwards said:
“I didn’t watch it back in the day so I can’t speak on it. They say it was tougher back then than it is now, but I don’t think anybody had skill back then. [Michael Jordan] was the only one that really had skill, you know what I mean? So that’s why when they saw Kobe [Bryant], they were like, ‘Oh, my God.’ But now everybody has skill.”

Saying that Jordan’s period of NBA dominance didn’t have skill is a bold move from Edwards and it’ll surely make some people very upset.
It’ll be especially angering to fans because Edwards admitted that he didn’t watch basketball back then, which means he has no proof to make his point.
The truth is that Jordan’s era in the NBA had a ton of talent outside of him.
With that being said, Jordan had the biggest impact on the players that came after, including Edwards.

From his build to his speed to his shooting style, there is a lot of Jordan in Edwards.
A ton of lifelong NBA fans will tell Edwards that the NBA was packed full of amazing talent during those years and that he should watch highlights of other players.
That would help him improve his game and become a well-rounded player.
And it could help him become the best player of this era.
