Anthony Edwards Makes Bold Statement About Rudy Gobert

Midway through February, the Minnesota Timberwolves continue to hold the best record in the Western Conference.

They managed to get past the almighty Los Angeles Clippers, the best team in the league since December, beating them by double digits.

Of course, most of this surge has been thanks to Anthony Edwards, who already took the massive leap last season when he single-handedly led them to the playoffs.

He’s been even better this season, and that summer with Team USA did wonders to speed up his development.

However, he wants to give credit where it’s due, which is why he went on to state that Rudy Gobert is the best defensive player on Earth right now.

That’s not much of a reach, as Gobert has already won the second-most Defensive Player of the Year award three times.

It’s been a while since he took the distinction home, and some believe he’s often gotten exposed in the playoffs because of his inability to stay in front of quicker and smaller players on the perimeter.

Even so, he’s always been lights out in the restricted area, and it’s a fact that he’s been a game-changer when he’s roaming around in the paint.

Edwards, on the other hand, has also taken big strides on defense as well and is taking pride in embracing a defensive challenge game in and game out.

He’s a special leader with his talk and his play, and this franchise has finally found it’s gem.
