For years now, the NBA’s All-Star Game has been a bit controversial.
The fans don’t seem to like it or enjoy it as much anymore, and they’ve constantly called out the league and the players on social media for it.
What was once a talent exhibition between the best players in the league has turned into a 48-minute shooting contest with a complete disregard for playing defense.
Even the players acknowledge that the game is kind of watered down at this point, and it doesn’t seem like there’s a quick fix to it.
Recently, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards admitted that the players don’t think of it as a competition and just look at it as a break instead (via NBA Central):
“For me, it’s an All-Star Game, so I don’t think I will ever look at it like being super competitive. It’s always fun. I don’t know what they can do to make it more competitive,” Edwards said.

Of course, the players have every right to get a week off to heal and restore their bodies.
They do their jobs like the rest of us, so why wouldn’t they be entitled to a vacation, especially with the physical burden they put their bodies through?
Then again, they do have some months off in the offseason, and all the fans ask is for a competitive game in between a full week off.
It’s reached a point where it might even be better for everybody if they just called the game off entirely.
The stars don’t want to partake in the events, and they clearly don’t care about the game either.
This was supposed to be for the fans, so what’s the point if the fans don’t seem to like it?
