The Minnesota Timberwolves were one of the most surprising teams in the NBA this year.

After several seasons of mediocrity and early-round playoff exits, something clicked for this team.

They made an unexpected run to the Western Conference Finals, where they had a lot of optimism that they could take down the Dallas Mavericks to make it to their first NBA Finals as an organization.

While they just fell to the Mavericks in five games, there is reason to believe that the Timberwolves could find themselves in a similar position next year.

Anthony Edwards has quickly become the cornerstone of this team, and with any luck, the front office will continue to build the roster around him.

Edwards was asked about the loss in a postgame press conference, along with his thoughts on the team’s run to the Western Conference Finals.

While he could have chosen negativity, Edwards decided to stay positive and focus on what the team can do next season.

“It’s fun man, I love it,” Edwards said, adding, “I’m looking forward to being right back in this situation next year.”

Edwards has remained confident and positive throughout the team’s run, even when their back has been against the wall.

His winning mentality should help his teammates as they move forward to the 2024-2025 season, armed with this year’s playoff experience under their belt.

The Timberwolves have struggled to find their footing within the West for several years, but players like Edwards, Karl Anthony-Towns, and Rudy Gobert have helped them get back to a place of relevance.
