The Minnesota Timberwolves lived to see another day.
For the first time in the series, their two stars had a solid performance on offense, combining for 54 points.
Unfortunately, however, they couldn’t both be on the court to close out the game, as Karl-Anthony Towns fouled out midway through the final quarter.
That’s why, following the game, Anthony Edwards made sure to call him out in public, remembering what he had asked him about staying out of foul trouble earlier in the postseason.
Towns then jokingly reminded Edwards that he finished the game with five fouls, to which Edwards replied that he would beat him up on the bus (via Courtside Buzz).
Anthony Edwards to Karl-Anthony Towns: “What did I tell you about fouling?”
Towns: “You had five!”
Edwards: “But I didn’t foul out! I might beat him up on the bus, y’all.”
Towns: “Don’t believe that.” pic.twitter.com/mW9dnbACpm

Earlier in the playoffs, Edwards called Towns out and urged him to avoid fouling so much.
He’s never been much of a defender, although he can swat some shots, and he has a tendency to get into foul trouble.
At the end of the day, it’s clear that the Timberwolves need Towns to play like what he is, which is the second-best player on the team and the only other player who could give them at least 20 points with ease on any given night.
Edwards has left something to be desired as well, but he’s shown up more often than not, and Chris Finch’s team needs their veteran players to step up as well.
