Nikola Jokic is the best player in the NBA right now, and it’s been like that for a while.
The Serbian big man may not have the flashiest moves or be the most privileged athlete, but he’s a true triple-threat with his ability to drive, shoot, and pass as a seven-footer.
Also, ever since he got in better shape, he’s no longer gassed out at the end of games, and that has unlocked a whole new level of his game.
That’s why Anthony Edwards believes there’s only one player who could stand a chance against him, and that’s Anthony Davis.
In a recent interview, the former NBA Rookie of the Year claimed that Davis was the ‘closest’ person who could guard him, adding that he was ready to call Jokic the best player in the world when he saw that he also dominated the Los Angeles Lakers’ big man (via ADHD).
“A.D is the closest person who can guard him(Jokic) in the league”
even Anthony Edwards knows AD is the best defender in the world man. Actual Rudy teammate BTW

Notably, this might not sit well with Rudy Gobert, who’s a teammate of Edwards and prides himself in being one of the best defensive players in the league.
Then again, that’s just a fact.
Jokic has gotten the best of Gobert over and over, and he’s not as good a perimeter defender as Davis is.
Even so, there are some players you cannot stop; you can only hope to contain them, and Nikola Jokic has officially reached that status.
Also, who knows? Perhaps Gobert will use that clip as motivation to prove his young teammate wrong and lockdown Jokic at least once in this series.
