The Minnesota Timberwolves are for real.

They entered the postseason with some doubts, as not many young teams usually fare well at this stage, and Rudy Gobert came with plenty of well-documented issues in the postseason.

They surpassed all expectations by taking down the Phoenix Suns in just four games.

However, despite the sweep, some were still unimpressed, claiming that Kevin Durant’s team wasn’t that good to begin with.

Now, they’re up 2-0 on the defending NBA champions, winning both games on the road.

Still, Anthony Edwards knows the job is far from done, and he expects the Nuggets to bounce back and give them their best effort in Games 3 and 4, which is why he believes his team has to be ready to ‘take their punch’ (Via NBA TV).

“They gotta be ready to take our punch, we’ll be ready to take their punch.”

Edwards took Denver by storm and had two remarkable performances.

He followed a 43-point masterpiece to pull off the upset in Game 1 with a great defensive performance in Game 2, making up for Rudy Gobert’s absence with unmatched hustle and physicality.

Chris Finch’s team is clearly on a mission, and their old-school, 90s style of basketball has been as exciting to watch as it was back in the day.

The Nuggets cannot do a lot worse than they did in Game 2, so Edwards is right about bracing themselves for what’s to come.

Edwards has established himself as one of the best players in the league already, and while they still have plenty of basketball ahead of them, the Timberwolves are playing like a legitimate NBA championship contender.
