A lot of athletes in professional sports have to make a choice at some point during their playing careers when it comes to the sport they want to play and which sport they think they can be the most successful at.
It appears that Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves was one of those athletes, as he played both football and basketball, which are the two sports that tend to be played by a lot of athletes before they make it to the professional level.
Two NBA superstars that could’ve also gone the football route were Philadelphia 76ers superstar guard Allen Iverson and Akron’s own LeBron James, as they both excelled on the gridiron in the same way that they did on the hardwood.
In a way to promote his new signature shoe for Adidas, Edwards showed some old footage of him as a football player as a kid, where he appears to be rocking Minnesota Vikings colors, which were used for the new shoes.

Edwards is currently having the best season of his NBA career with the Timberwolves, averaging a career-high 26.3 points per game while keeping Minnesota in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
The Timberwolves are battling back and forth with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the top seed in the West, with Minnesota having a great chance of locking up that top spot before the regular season comes to an end.
Although he’s only 22 years old, Edwards has taken the league by storm and might have a legitimate shot of winning his first NBA title this season.
