Anthony Edwards came to play on Saturday night and scored 43 points for his Minnesota Timberwolves, helping them secure a surprising Game 1 win over the Denver Nuggets.
Edwards is having the best season of his career and because of that some people are comparing him to NBA legend Michael Jordan.
As flattering as that is, Edwards is hoping the comparison ends.
“I want it to stop. He’s the greatest of all time. I can’t be compared to him,” Edwards said, via NBACentral.

From Kevin Garnett to Patrick Beverley and many other NBA insiders, writers, and analysts, plenty of people have said that Edwards sometimes plays like Jordan in his prime.
The comparison is due to the way that he moves, the way he is built, and the ferociousness of his game.
During his team’s first-round win over the Phoenix Suns, Edwards was on fire, scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.
This resulted in the Timberwolves’ first playoff series win in 20 years.
Edwards was the top pick in the 2020 draft so he’s been used to high expectations for all of his professional career.
He is meeting all of those expectations right now and even surpassing them.
Although he has been in the league for several seasons now, this was Edwards’ biggest year, bringing him the most praise and attention.
He will only get more praise and attention in the weeks ahead if he continues to play so well in the postseason.
The Nuggets are obviously very hard opponents but Edwards was able to score a win over them on Saturday night.
He looked like a future champion and a former Bulls icon, no matter if he wanted the comparison or not.
