The Minnesota Timberwolves had two No. 1 picks sharing the court, yet none of them was able to carry the team to contention.
Andrew Wiggins constantly overachieved, and Karl-Anthony Towns put up big numbers with losing games and failed to step up in big moments.
This time, however, it seems like they’ve finally found that high-character guy that could propel them to contention with the No. 1 pick.
Anthony Edwards should already be considered the most talented Timberwolves player ever alongside Kevin Garnett, and if he keeps up this level of play, he might be able to lead this team to where Garnett could never.
The Georgia product was in his bag in the win over the Memphis Grizzlies, showcasing his creativity, skills, and insane athleticism by throwing a lob to himself, just as if we were watching prime Tracy McGrady out there (via Bleacher Report).
Needless to say, the fans flooded social media with countless reactions to this electric play.

Edwards has the Timberwolves sitting at the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference.
He’s currently averaging career highs in points (26.1) and assists (5.0), all while grabbing 5.4 boards, 1.3 steals, and 2.4 three-pointers per game on 46/38/84 shooting splits (also career bests).
He should be right at the top of the MVP conversation right now, mostly because not many people thought the Timberwolves had this kind of run in them.
Edwards is a special and unique talent and is one of the best players on Earth in just his fourth year in the league, and it’ll be exciting to see his development in the league.
