Antonio Pierce Announces Plans For QB Situation

It’s the dawn of a new era for the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Josh McDaniels regime was a dark one, and the players seem ecstatic to have Antonio Pierce calling the shots now.

Their defense could be better, and their offense looked better when Pierce took the reins.

However, they’re still nowhere near contention, and most of that has to do with their quarterback situation.

They signed Gardner Minshew to a lucrative deal in the offseason, but they also have second-year QB Aidan O’Connell on the roster.

Needless to say, that has prompted plenty of questions regarding who’s going to be the starter.

Still, Pierce is in no rush to make a decision.

As reported by NBC Sports’ ProFootballTalk, the former player stated that he would make a decision when it becomes ‘obvious.’

Of course, that might not be the best or most encouraging approach, especially with the start of the season just around the corner.

There were rumors about Davante Adams being traded because of the team’s subpar quarterback situation, but there hasn’t been any traction about a potential deal and his agents dismissed that notion.

Then again, we’ve seen how frustrated he’s been about losing or not getting involved enough in the passing game, so that should be a situation to keep an eye on.

As of now, one could only assume that Minshew has the upper hand to be the starter, but it seems like we won’t know for sure for the time being.
