The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a big offseason ahead of the 2024 regular season.

They made multiple moves at quarterback by signing former Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson and trading for former first-round pick Justin Fields.

In addition to the moves under center, the team has also brought in multiple wide receivers.

One of those names is former Super Bowl champion receiver Van Jefferson, who Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is very high on.

“Van Jefferson’s a guy that’s had a terrific camp,” Smith recently said on The Pat McAfee Show.

Jefferson was one of those under-the-radar signings in the league this offseason.

The former second-round pick has predominantly been the No. 3 or 4 wide receiver on the depth chart throughout his career.

His best career season came in the second year of his career when he was with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.

That season, he put up 59 receptions for 802 yards and six touchdowns en route to a Super Bowl win.

2021 was also the last season in which he started every game in the regular season, so if he could find a way to stay healthy and play a full year, he could become a real contributor.

George Pickens, a 1,000-yard wide receiver from a year ago, is the team’s No.1 receiver.

Then, there is a logjam of receivers with Jefferson, rookie Roman Wilson, speedster Scotty Miller, veteran Calvin Austin, and Quez Watkins all looking for opportunities.

If Jefferson can rediscover some of that 2021 magic, he could be a real threat on offense in Pittsburgh regardless of who the starting quarterback is.
