So far in the FIBA Basketball World Cup, Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers has been one of the most pivotal parts of Team USA.
That wasn’t the case during the team’s loss to Lithuania.
Team Lithuania figured out how to limit Reaves and held him to just seven points and zero rebounds and assists.
Following the game, Reaves received his fair share of criticism.
According to NBACentral, his brother Spencer called out the people doing the bad-mouthing.
“People really had ‘Austin Reaves sucks’ tweets just waiting in the drafts for a bad game,” he said.

Reaves had been great in the World Cup up until that point, repeatedly scoring double-digits and securing important rebounds and assists.
He was performing as he has been with his Lakers for the last two seasons.
But Lithuania was ready for Reaves and found a way to slow him down and minimize his output on the court.
There is no denying that Reaves had a bad game and he would be the first one to admit that.
Now he is looking to bounce back in a crucial game against Team Italy on Tuesday.
If Reaves can perform as he had before Lithuania, Team USA could remain in the World Cup.
If not, the American team will be headed home.
Reaves is a rising star because of his driven attitude and electric skills.
He is impactful on the court and also very fun to watch.
But all of that brings people who are just waiting to see mistakes and failures.
Now it’s time to see how Reaves responds to this setback.
