D’Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers left some jaws on the floor Friday night after scoring 44 points and earning the game-winning final bucket against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Everyone was impressed by Russell’s big night, especially because it came during the absence of LeBron James.

If it wasn’t for Russell, the Lakers likely would have been taken down by the Bucks.

After the game, Austin Reaves praised his teammate and talked about what he loves about him.

“I just like the way he plays. He’s one of the smoothest players I’ve ever been around,” Reaves said, according to Mike Trudell.

Smooth is definitely a good way to describe Russell.

He was impressive from all over the court, shooting 17-of-25 from the floor and 9-of-12 from beyond the three-point line.

It was his best game of the season and came at a great time because the Lakers are desperately attempting to climb higher in the standings.

Because of Friday night’s win, the Lakers are now the ninth seed in the West again.

They obviously want to rise higher than that but their game against the Bucks was a crucial one because it showed they could take down a better team even without James.

James should be back soon and if Russell keeps playing like this alongside him, the team might be able to score a few other victories during this very rough patch of the schedule.

Reaves was in awe of Russell’s game but he also contributed a lot too.

He posted 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.

It was a good night for Reaves and a few other stars on the roster but the night clearly belonged to Russell.
