Some people talk about Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers as if he’s one of the best big men in the league.

And others speak about him like he’s a washed-up, perpetually injured disappointment.

Davis’ teammate, Austin Reaves, feels that he doesn’t get the proper respect.

Speaking on the “All The Smoke” show on Showtime, Reaves talked about all the versatile things Davis does for his team.

“I don’t think he gets enough credit for what he does for us as guards. Knowing you have him as a rim protector, you can be more physical, more aggressive,” Reaves said.

He then added: “He’s arguably right behind ‘Bron as the most skilled player I’ve ever seen. His height, the way he moves, he can handle the ball, he can shoot it. There’s really nothing he can’t do.”

When healthy and tuned in, Davis really can be productive on both ends of the court.

Because of his size and his power, he is able to shut down even the best players in the league.

For example, he was able to limit Steph Curry during the playoffs this year, which lead to Golden State’s downfall and elimination.

But Davis can also score well too and is known for his passing abilities.

This is what makes him such an important part of nearly every possession by the Lakers.

Of course, Davis does have his drawbacks, most notably the number of injuries he has suffered.

He can also be inconsistent when the team needs him most, leading to one big game followed by a disappointing one.

Davis was crucial to his team when they won the championship a few years ago.

He was also an important part of their lineup during the recent impressive postseason run.

He shouldn’t be exempt from criticism but Reaves believes that Davis deserves much more praise too.
