The Los Angeles Lakers and their fans celebrated a special day on Thursday.
August 24th is now known as Kobe Bryant Day, as the date features both of his jersey numbers (24 and 8).
And Austin Reaves, being a diehard Kobe Bryant fan, had to find a way to pay homage to his idol, which is why he thought of the most traditional way there is.
During a scrimmage for Team USA, the Arkansas product yelled ‘Kobe’ as he pulled up and took a shot, just like the rest of us have done since the Black Mamba rose to prominence (via ClutchPoints).

Reaves has often been vocal about his love and admiration for Kobe.
He even recalled his favorite Kobe moment during his final game, stating that he woke everyone up at home with all the screams and excitement.
Bryant inspired two generations of hoopers, and Reaves went from wanting to be like him to actually becoming the starting shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers; it doesn’t get any better than that.
But just like Bryant once said, the job’s not finished.
He’ll have to continue grinding to fulfill his destiny in the league and lead the Lakers to the same spot his idol led them five times.
