Over the past couple of years, the Denver Nuggets have had the Los Angeles Lakers’ number.
Mike Malone’s team has gotten the best of Darvin Ham’s troops eight consecutive times, dating back to last season’s Western Conference Finals.
The reigning NBA champions continue to be the team to beat until proven otherwise, and they’re tailor-made for a seven-game series.
On top of that, they have one of the best playoff performers in the game in Jamal Murray.
With that in mind, Lakers guard Austin Reaves shared his thoughts on his upcoming rivalry, praising him for the way he’s dominated and been efficient against them in the past (via Spectrum SportsNet and ClutchPoints).
“Obviously, he’s [Jamal Murray] a hell of a player. In matchups against us in the past he’s been very efficient.”

Murray is a very good player, but he usually takes his game to a whole new level when the postseason comes.
The Lakers have managed to stay competitive in their matchups vs. the Nuggets, and most of the losses have been close, so they can’t help but feel like they actually stand a chance to get the best of them this time.
Even so, the Nuggets must also feel great about themselves right now, as beating a team eight times in a row, including some games in which they had to come back from behind to get the win, should make them feel like they always stand a chance.
Also, having a homecourt advantage against them will give them an even bigger edge, and the Lakers will have an uphill battle to get the best of them in this series.
