Few teams have had to deal with as drastic a change to their franchise as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost superstar quarterback Tom Brady to retirement shortly after the 2022 NFL season came to an end.
With Brady finally calling it a career, the Buccaneers had a significant void to fill on the offensive side of the football, with few viable options, as some thought a rebuilding process would begin in Tampa Bay.
Ultimately, the team decided to bring in veteran quarterback Baker Mayfield to be Brady’s successor, which has come with a fair share of criticism, with the former No. 1 overall pick being on a steady decline over the last couple of years.
Despite many pundits and fans doubting Mayfield’s ability to get the job done in Tampa Bay, the 28-year-old embraces the challenge and believes the Buccaneers offense can be explosive next season via the team’s Twitter account.

Although Brady is gone and is arguably irreplaceable, Mayfield may not be wrong when predicting an explosive offense during the 2023 campaign.
The Buccaneers still have one of the most talented duos at the wide receiver position in Chris Goodwin and Mike Evans, that’ll be at Mayfield’s disposal next season.
That’s not a bad start for Mayfield in Tampa Bay, as the Buccaneers could make some noise offensively if the former Heisman Trophy winner can turn back the clock and show why the Cleveland Browns selected him No. 1 overall in 2018.
This will likely be Mayfield’s last chance to prove his worth as a starter in the NFL, which means the pressure will be on right out of the gate.
