The Buffalo Bills have had a shaky offseason, losing their top two receivers via trade and free agency, and many of the questions surrounding the team over the past few months have been centered on how the offense is going to stay afloat without Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

Unfortunately, the defense has now also lost a very significant player, according to Bart Scott and many other fans and media analysts who agree with him.

The former NFL linebacker said that Matt Milano’s recent torn biceps injury represents a massive loss for the Bills.

“When healthy, in my opinion, he is a top-five linebacker in this league and one of the best leaders that they have,” Scott said on “Get Up.”

Milano suffered the injury during practice and will have surgery with the hopes of returning sometime in December.

The former All-Pro played in just five games last season after suffering a broken leg, and the Bills were counting on him to bring some stability back to the defense this year after losing two veteran leaders in safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer to free agency.

Terrel Bernard will be expected to take over for Milano in his absence, and if last year was any indication, he’ll be just fine.

Bernard posted 143 tackles and 6.5 sacks last season to go along with three interceptions and three fumble recoveries in what was a breakout year for the third-round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft.
