Baseball Legend Honored With New U.S. Postage Stamp

MLB is more than a few people throwing, catching and hitting a ball.

It’s about history, tradition and how the past helped shape the present and the future.

The history of the game can’t be ignored. To the contrary, we need to look back at it and embrace it.

Henry “Hank” Aaron is a big part of MLB history, and the United States Postal Service (USPS) made an exciting announcement regarding the slugger.

With the idea of honoring one of MLB’s best and most iconic hitters, they are releasing the new Hank Aaron commemorative forever stamp.

“Baseball Legend Hank Aaron Memorialized on New Forever Stamp,” it tweeted.

Baseball fans will now be able to give their packages and letters a baseball touch with one of the most accomplished players ever to step on a field.

Thomas Marshall, executive vice president of USPS, explained how thrilled he is that the U.S. Postal Service is “honoring the life and legacy of Hank Aaron through their stamp program.”

He called Aaron among the “very best of America,” praising how “he shattered baseball records and broke racial barriers” to help develop the game and take it where it is today.

Aaron, an important figure in the civil rights movement in America, passed away in 2021, but his legacy lives on.

He held MLB’s record for most home runs over a career with 755 until Barry Bonds passed him in 2007.

He won batting titles, home run crowns, the World Series, the MVP award and was a 25-time All-Star.

It’s a nice initiative by USPS and a cool way to pay tribute to one of the most influential players of the 20th century.
