The Chicago Bears made it clear that they like what they see in Justin Fields.

They traded down from the No. 1 pick so they could have more assets to build their roster around their franchise QB, and they didn’t disappoint come April 27.

The Bears used that No. 10 pick to bring in one of the best blockers in the nation, taking Darnell Wright out of Tennessee to serve as their new right tackle.

That’s great news for Fields, who was often rushed and pressured and took a remarkable amount of sacks in his first year as a starter.

Wright is a plug-and-play, NFL-ready player who’s going to make his life way easier.

He’s an elite blocker in the running game and the kind of guy rival defenses often need to focus on to try and get to the QB.

He’s also versatile enough to play on multiple spots of the offensive line, granted he’s not able to make an immediate impact on the team, which we believe he will.

Fields needed more time than the average QB to get rid of the football, either because of the pocket collapsing or due to the lack of talent he had in the passing game.

He took a huge leap forward in the second half of last season, breaking out as one of the best scrambling quarterbacks in the league.

Matt Eberflus trusted him more to sling the football down the field as the season went by, and he’ll now have an improved receiving corps to work with.
