At the end of the preseason, it is not that uncommon to see trades happen around the NFL.

Teams are in the process of trying to finalize their rosters around and after the final preseason game.

The Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears just recently agreed to terms on a trade.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Seattle is sending linebacker Darrell Taylor to Chicago for a 2025 sixth-round pick.

Taylor was a second-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2020 and has been a quality role player.

After missing the 2020 season due to injury, he ended up recording 21.5 sacks over the next three seasons.

His best statistical season came in 2022 when he recorded 9.5 sacks, 13 quarterback hits, and four forced fumbles.

That season, he only started in three games.

Taylor could have been traded from the Seahawks for a number of general reasons, but the biggest reason might be because of his contract.

Entering the final year of his contract, perhaps the Seahawks did not want to pay him and instead wanted to get some compensation back for him.

They got that in the form of a late-round pick.

Now, the Bears are getting a hungry player looking to make an impact on an up-and-coming defense led by the likes of Pro-Bowlers Montez Sweat, Tremaine Edmunds, Jaylon Johnson, and Kevin Byard.

If Chicago ends up getting the 2022 version of Taylor, the rest of the NFC might be in real trouble.

That is how impactful he could be as he enters his fifth NFL season.
