The Thursday Night Football game between the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers was one of the least anticipated matchups in recent memory.
This wasn’t exactly the primetime matchup that fans wanted, but it was the matchup they received.
It ended up being a 16-13 game with only two touchdowns scored, and the rest of the points were acquired via field goals.
Despite the overall fan response to this game, the Bears came away with a win, bringing their season record to 3-7.
After the game, Bears tight end Cole Kmet called this “Something you can build upon,” according to Patrick Finley via Pro Football Talk.

Kmet seems to believe that, even though the Bears won in a less-than-ideal fashion, they can learn a lot from this victory.
The Bears have faced significant obstacles throughout the season that have led to their 3-7 record.
Justin Fields has been injured for several weeks, and the Bears have been forced to start rookie Tyson Bagent as a result.
Bagent has been serviceable in Fields’ absence, but the team would much rather move forward with Fields, the former first-round draft pick.
His return to play remains to be seen, but for now, the Bears found a way to win with Bagent.
Hopefully, as Kmet believes, this will catalyze the back half of the Bears’ season, hoping to end the year on a positive note.
Their playoff hopes may be tarnished, but if they can grow and develop as a team throughout the year, they can enter 2024 refreshed, hopefully fully healthy and ready to compete.
