The Brooklyn Nets traded for Ben Simmons in hopes of finding a third star alongside the dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

However, Simmons could never reach the heights that the Nets expected from him when Durant and Irving were on the team.

Following the duo’s departure last season, many expected Simmons to finally take over the team in the 2023-24 NBA season.

Unfortunately, despite making some huge promises about having a great year this season, Simmons has been sidelined due to a back injury after playing just six games into the campaign.

Ben Simmons recently shared his frustrations due to his injury via ClutchPoints on Twitter.

“It’s probably one of the most frustrating points in my career,” Ben Simmons said.

“It’s probably one of the most frustrating points in my career… I wanna be out there and help [the Nets] win and compete… at the end of the day, it’s a part of sports. Not every game is promised, injuries happen.”

Simmons admitted that he is going through arguably the most frustrating phase of his NBA career.

After all, there was a time when Simmons was considered a lock for the NBA All-Star game and was one of the elite defenders in the league.

As of now, Simmons has yet to regain the form he had in the early years of his NBA career.

It’s evident from the fact that even before getting injured, Simmons was averaging just 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game for the Nets this season.

In Simmons’ absence, the Brooklyn Nets are currently the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 13-15 record.
