During his time with the Philadelphia 76ers, Ben Simmons was one of the best two-way players in the game and seemingly the ideal player to play alongside superstar center Joel Embiid.

Even though Simmons seemed like he had a bright future ahead in Philadelphia, it wasn’t meant to be as he was eventually traded to the Brooklyn Nets, with the end of his time with the 76ers getting messy, to say the least.

Simmons couldn’t have left the 76ers in a worse way, and things got ugly when his stint in Philadelphia came to an end, which obviously would make every trip back to the city a rough one for the former No. 1 overall pick with the fanbase being one of the most brutal and relentless in the league.

Of course, in Simmons’ latest trip back to where his NBA career began, he dealt with his fair share of boos once again from the 76ers faithful, as his Nets were able to prevail against the Embiid-less squad in Philadelphia.

At this point in his career, Simmons finds that grown men booing him is funny because they take things a little too seriously, according to Andrew Crane of the New York Post via NBA Central.

“It’s funny to me.  I got grown men *****d off and yelling at me…It’s not that deep,” Simmons said.

Fortunately for Simmons, he appears to be getting back to 100% healthy, even though he recently had a bit of an injury scare after battling through nerve issues.

When Simmons is healthy and able to contribute as a starter or off the bench, the Nets are a much better and more well-rounded basketball team, as he can still play at a high level on both ends of the basketball floor.
