The Cincinnati Bengals already have one of the best quarterbacks in the game in Joe Burrow, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have to be prepared for everything.
If anything, last season proved that you can never have enough depth at QB, and having a solid and capable backup could make a big difference.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see them re-signing Jake Browning.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, they’ve signed him to a two-year deal through the 2025 season.

Browning became a fan favorite last season.
He was originally signed to the team’s practice squad ahead of the 2021 campaign, and he worked his way up the pecking order.
Browning was then forced into action by Burrow’s season-ending injury, and he did a more than respectable job.
He made nine appearances and led the team to a 4-3 record as a starter, and kept them in the hunt for a postseason berth late in the season.
Zac Taylor’s team eventually fell short of the goal, but the 27-year-old proved that he was more than capable of holding down the fort for the team, earning this new contract.
Hopefully, for the Bengals, they won’t need him out there anymore, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry, and they could’ve done a lot worse than him.
