Thursday was a rough night for the Cincinnati Bengals, as they lost a marquee matchup to the Baltimore Ravens, 34-20.

To add injury to insult, star quarterback Joe Burrow sustained a torn ligament in his right wrist, and as a result, he will need surgery, which means he will be out for the rest of the season.

It also means the Bengals’ Super Bowl hopes are dead just past the midway point of the season.

After Thursday’s game, their head coach Zac Taylor addressed a narrative surrounding linebacker Logan Wilson, and Taylor defended the fourth-year player by saying he plays with great toughness and physicality, per Caleb Noe.

“I do have one more thing I want to say…”

Burrow wasn’t the only player who suffered an injury in Thursday’s game — Ravens star tight end Mark Andrews also sustained a season-ending injury when Wilson executed a hip-drop tackle on him in the first quarter.

Some have been criticizing Wilson as a result and have even called the play dirty.

In 10 games this season, Wilson has registered 79 tackles (52 solo) plus six passes defended, three interceptions, four tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits.

This has been an injury-riddled season for Cincinnati, as Burrow came up with a strained calf early in training camp that caused him to play very poorly during the first few weeks of the schedule.

The team recently had a four-game winning streak and seemed to be finding its mojo again, but instead of surging toward the stretch run, it will be “wait until next year” for a franchise that has never won a Super Bowl championship.
