The running back position in the NFL has gone through some changes over the last few years, with teams around the league no longer valuing the position in the same way they used to.
However, that hasn’t stopped some very talented running backs from coming out of the college game and some star players in the NFL from being game-changers for their franchises.
The one running back that had everyone excited heading into the 2023 NFL season was rookie Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons, who many believed would take the league by storm.
Although he didn’t become an instant superstar coming out of the backfield in Atlanta, Robinson seems to have a bright future ahead with the Falcons and was recently asked who he believes are the five best running backs in the NFL today, via Complex Sports.

Robinson compiled a solid list of young and veteran running backs when asked about the five best players at the position in the league today, with NFL MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers leading the way.
Along with McCaffrey, Robinson went with Derrick Henry, who appears to be leaving the Tennessee Titans after this season in order to seek greener pastures and a better chance to win.
As for the young backs, Robinson went with Jahmyr Gibbs, Breece Hall, and Kyren Williams.
Although Gibbs shares the Detroit Lions’ backfield with David Montgomery, he still had a stellar rookie season and could be a star on the rise in the NFL while the same can be said for Hall of the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams back Williams.
