At one point during the Matt Ryan era, the Atlanta Falcons were one of the best teams in the NFL, with a superstar quarterback and a roster that had the potential to be a Super Bowl title contender on an annual basis.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, things haven’t gone well since Ryan left, as they haven’t been able to find his long-term successor, nor have they been able to get it right consistently on either side of the football.

However, the 2024 NFL season could be where things start to change for the Falcons, as they have put some solid pieces together that could result in a high-powered offense while also becoming a legitimate playoff contender in the NFC.

Their biggest move during the NFL offseason was signing veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins to a four-year contract, which might result in a massive upgrade at the position and something that will significantly benefit young stars  Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts.

During an appearance on “Up & Adams,” Robinson was asked which matchup he’s looking forward to during the 2024 campaign, and he didn’t hesitate to say Week 1 when they host the new-look Pittsburgh Steelers and former Falcons head coach turned Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.

The Week 1 matchup between the Steelers and Falcons will be an ideal test of how far the teams have come heading into this season, as both needed to make changes offensively, especially at quarterback.

The showdown will occur on Sept. 8 in Atlanta, with both teams looking to start the 2024 campaign on a high note.
