The 2023 NFL season has been a nightmare for the New England Patriots, with the storied franchise having won only two games coming into Week 14, as seemingly nothing has gone right for Bill Belichick and company.
This season has been another indication of how hard it has been for the Patriots to find Tom Brady’s successor under center, as it could be argued that the team’s problems stem from its inability to play consistently well at the quarterback position.
One-time Pro Bowler Mac Jones has been unable to get the job done and, as a result, has lost his role as the starting quarterback for the Patriots, while Bailey Zappe hasn’t done any better in being his temporary replacement.
Even though it has been the worst season on record for Belichick as the Patriots head coach, it seems as though he still has some appeal, as he will be on College GameDay as the guest picker on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Along with the Patriots being lost at the moment at the quarterback position with no telling what the team will do moving forward, Belichick’s job status has been a hot topic of discussion, with some believing he might be coaching his last games for New England.
Even though news surfaced that Belichick quietly signed a contract extension last summer, the Patriots could still decide to make a change during the NFL offseason and start fresh with a new head coach, leaving the legendary head coach’s legacy and status in limbo.
