The Philadelphia Eagles will be in the spotlight this season.

The way they crumbled late in the year last season made some people question Nick Sirianni’s leadership, and some think he’s going to be on the hot seat to enter this season.

Notably, that puts Bill Belichick’s name right back in the conversation.

Belichick was rumored to be a potential candidate to take over for Sirianni, and some analysts even ripped Howie Roseman for passing on the opportunity to get him.

With that in mind, senior NFL writer Seth Wickersham stated that Roseman and Belichick have grown close throughout the course of the years, and while they clearly have different salary cap philosophies, it wouldn’t be so far-fetched to think that he could be next in line to take over, should the Eagles part ways with Sirianni (Via Ross Tucker Podcast).

There were rumors about Sirianni’s temper being an issue, especially after their chief of security was banned, as he reportedly kept him in check.

He also tweaked his entire coaching staff around mid-season, and that rarely works out well.

Needless to say, Bill Belichick isn’t known for his easygoing character or being the warmest guy, but his system has clearly worked well in the past.

The Eagles have everything they need to be a Super Bowl-contending team, and anything short of a deep postseason run should be considered a failure.

Whether that’ll lead to Belichick arriving in the City of Brotherly Love or not, that could be an entirely different story.
