It’s going to be strange having an NFL season without Bill Belichick involved in any team capacity, as the Super Bowl champion won’t be on the sidelines for the first time in over two decades and will instead be focusing on the content and media side of things for the time being to give fans access to him in a new capacity.
Belichick shockingly didn’t land any of the eight head coaching vacancies this offseason, but one analyst believes another team will have him on the phone immediately if they wind up firing their coach.
Beat writer Pat Leonard appeared on “The Carton Show” and said the New York Giants are a team to look out for when it comes to hiring Belichick.
“There’s going to be, in my opinion, if Brian Daboll gets fired, a good chance that Belichick is their first call,” Leonard said of the Giants.

Leonard also mentioned the possibility of the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles having the best shot at Belichick because both rosters are closer to competing for a championship than the Giants’ is, and it’s unlikely the 72-year-old coach joins a roster without a proven quarterback.
It also depends on where his heart is, as fans don’t have any idea what Belichick, a former Giants assistant coach under Bill Parcells, is looking for in his next coaching opportunity.
Given his penchant for shaping a roster in his own vision, it’s possible a situation like the Giants would be more enticing to him compared to joining another franchise that is further along.
Any team that fires its head coach is going to have to do its due diligence and give Belichick a call, but the Giants would be an intriguing landing spot if Daboll doesn’t work out.
