It’s the dawn of a new era in the National Football League.
For the first time in decades, no team will have Bill Belichick working at any position.
That’s why the world was kind of shocked to see him heading back to college.
As shown by Christian Caple, the legendary head coach was spotted donning University of Washington gear, joining HC Jedd Fisch and his son Steve on the field during the Husky’s spring practice.

Steve was recently hired as the Husky’s defensive coordinator.
It’s crazy to think that no one in the league would employ Belichick.
He was reportedly in the running to become the next coach for the Atlanta Falcons, but he eventually lost the position to Raheem Morris.
Some speculate that the Falcons didn’t want to go through the hiring process so soon again, as Belichick was reportedly only going to coach for a couple of seasons while he pursued Don Shula’s record.
On top of that, the fact that he’s always been in charge of making most — if not all — of the calls, could’ve scared some teams away, as it could’ve led to a power struggle.
Whatever the case, it would be a surprise to see him stay unemployed after this season.
But who knows? If that happens, perhaps he could pursue a career at the collegiate level, assuming his son is willing to give him a hand.
