Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick made headlines off the field recently when it was discovered that his girlfriend is 23 years old, but despite the significant age gap, the former Super Bowl champion is reportedly happy.
A recent report has indicated that the 72-year-old has realized something new due to the relationship.
According to Page Six, Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has helped him realize “there is more in life than just football,” and because of this, one Patriots insider told the outlet that the legendary coach isn’t likely to return to the game anytime soon.
“I don’t know if he is looking to go back to coaching again, I may be wrong, but I think that he is realizing that there is more in life than just football,” the insider said.

Belichick left the Patriots in January after 24 seasons, and at the time many believed he was destined to take over as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers or Atlanta Falcons. However, neither team hired him, and Belichick was quickly left without a vacant coaching gig available.
With so many accolades under his belt, there’s little reason to believe Belichick has to coach again, as the report also noted that he now may have an opportunity to experience a youthfulness he never previously got to enjoy.
There has been plenty of criticism and jokes made at Belichick’s expense due to the age gap, but if he has found happiness outside of football, then it shouldn’t matter how he got there as long as he isn’t hurting anybody.
There will surely be a few NFL teams with a head coaching vacancy next offseason that will likely try to pull Belichick out of retirement, but for now, the coach seems to be happy and healthy away from the game.
