The Boston Celtics are the most battle-tested team still left in contention in the playoffs.
Despite their youth, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been through a lot together, especially in the postseason.
And while there have always been reports about whether they can coexist and win together, it seems like they genuinely like each other.
As a matter of fact, Tatum wanted Brown to get some well-deserved flowers and attention when everybody else was trying to steal the show.
According to NBA insider — and diehard Celtics fan — Bill Simmons, Tatum reached out to Doc Rivers and asked to give his minutes at the All-Star Game to Brown so he could get MVP (via Taylor Snow).
“Tatum went to Doc Rivers (at the All-Star Game) and he said, ‘Give Jaylen my minutes. I want to see him get MVP.’”

Simmons believes that camaraderie and this dynamic could be special and key for the Celtics to finally get over the hump.
Brown recently admitted that he was shocked that he had won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP because he never wins anything.
Granted, it’s not like Brown has been an MVP or Defensive Player of the Year, or he was robbed during the Slam Dunk Contest or anything, but still, he has rarely gotten the praise and recognition he’s deserved.
NBA players who are on the same timeline and have similar talents are always expected to coexist on the court, so they might as well make an effort to like each other off of it as well.
Now, it’s all about getting the actual job done.
